Oxnard 3, Ventura 2--Omari Parker doubled home Danny Chaparro in the 10th inning to win a WSC Northern division game at Oxnard (18-15, 11-7).
Ventura is 8-18, 4-14.
COLLEGE SOFTBALL
Canyons 9, Valley 1--Lacy Breggar had three hits, including a run-scoring triple, to help the Cougars clinch the WSC Southern Division championship at Canyons in a game called after five innings because of the eight-run rule.
Stephanie Blaire (15-8) pitched a four-hitter for the Cougars (25-11, 17-3) with five strikeouts.
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
Chatsworth 9, El Camino Real 8--Brian Lee and George Spadier hit home runs for the Chancellors (22-0, 8-0), who built a 9-3 lead in a West Valley League game at El Camino Real.
Spadier had three hits and four RBIs for Chatsworth, ranked No. 1 in The Times’ regional poll. Spadier had two hits, including a solo home run, his sixth of the season.
Christian Hariot of El Camino Real (9-10, 2-6) hit a two-run triple in a five-run sixth to chase Justin Cassel (6-0). Jessie Michel followed with a two-run double.
Grant 4, North Hollywood 1--Moises Saldivar (4-3) threw a five-hitter, struck out five and walked two for the Lancers in the Sunset League game at Grant (11-8, 5-1).
TRACK AND FIELD
Antelope Valley College Throws Festival--Jason Tunks of Canada dominated the men’s discus competition after American John Godina withdrew because of an injury.
Tunks won at 212-1 and had throws of 210-11, 210-10 and 208-7.
Jacqueline Goormachtigh of the Netherlands won the women’s discus in 185-10.
Seilala Sua, a U.S. Olympian, didn’t compete because of illness.
BOYS’ TENNIS
Crescenta Valley 10, Hoover 8--Jason Kim and Ara Boyadjian beat Joseph Kim and Eugene Kim, 6-4, to clinch a Pacific League victory for the Falcons (4-4, 2-3) at Crescenta Valley.
HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL
Taft def. Birmingham, 15-4, 15-3, 15-8--Bryan Capper had 10 kills for the Toreadors (10-1, 7-0), who won their 31st consecutive West Valley League match, at Birmingham.
