Legal Trouble May Be a Sour Note for Oscar

I wonder if anybody ever told the Golden Boy that he can’t just unilaterally declare “free agency” after he has signed a legally binding contract [Q&A; with Oscar De La Hoya, Sept. 29]. Bob Arum can and will keep him from ever having to fight Sugar Shane or Tito again. But maybe that’s what Oscar wanted all along . . . an easy way out.

I hope he sings better than he fights.
