I have followed the religious right with interest, and a degree of sympathy since 1980. Unfortunately, Evangelicals have not been good at selecting presidents. In 1980 most of them abandoned the most sincerely Christian President the United States has ever had to support a product of Hollywood, who rarely attended church.
