I laughed out loud when I read Bill Simpson’s comments about Spencer Tracy (Saturday Letters, Aug. 5): “He was a nice chap who played nice chaps. Where was the acting?”
Where was the acting!?! Mr. Simpson, that was Tracy’s secret, his gift.
To quote Humphrey Bogart: “Spence is the best we have, because you don’t see the mechanism at work.”

Last Saturday, you ran a letter regarding Julio Iglesias from “me.” It was really from my wife, Mary Razo. The guys on my hockey team, not to mention my customers and friends, will wonder how I know what a visit to the gynecologist is like!!!
