Robbery Suspect Shot

Four men who tried to rob a Brinks guard Friday outside a Bank of America branch in Whittier fled after the guard opened fire and apparently fatally wounded one of the men, police said.

Whittier police said a man matching the description of the wounded suspect died at an emergency clinic in El Monte. He was not immediately identified.
