Suing Disney

More power to Disney for not rolling over on these lawsuits. Every instance you cited in “Disneyland a Fierce Foe in Court” (Jan. 31), regarding Disney not settling claims, rings with a certain reality, and that is, when you get on fast rides that can be dangerous for the rider who has a physical weakness or the rider who stands up or sticks his arm out of the vehicles, things go wrong.

These are the same people represented by the same lawyers who will sue the city when they fall down in the street. The situation with the [Columbia sailing ship accident] is different and I would hope that Disney will do the right thing and do it quickly before the lawyers swarm.

By the way, if Los Angeles had the backbone that Disney has in fighting frivolous claims, the sun would indeed shine brighter over our city. It is tragic that a criminal can sue the police for being injured while trying to kill or injure the police.
