The Region : New Child-Care Program

Options, a nonprofit child-care and family services agency, is implementing a new alternative-payment child-care program in parts of the San Gabriel Valley.
The program offers subsidized child care through a voucher system for low-income families. Parents must be working or in a job training or education program. Parents may choose licensed child-care centers, family child-care providers or exempt care by relatives. Participants must either live or work in Alhambra, San Gabriel, Temple City, El Monte, Rosemead, South El Monte, Azusa or Baldwin Park.
The program will begin Monday. Interested parties should call the Options resource and referral office at (818) 280-0777.
