Santa Paula 19, Desert 0--Brian Whittaker completed seven of 18 for 122 yards and two touchdowns to lead host Santa Paula (1-1) to its first victory under Coach Rick Shoup.

Whittaker connected with Danny Alcantar on a seven-yard scoring strike with 43 seconds left in the first quarter and hooked up with Steven Gonzales on a 48-yard touchdown pass with 6:10 left in the first half.

Santa Paula recorded nine sacks, including seven by Eric McCalister, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound senior defensive end.
