Los Angeles attorney-businessman Richard J. Riordan on Friday filed papers to raise funds for a possible mayoral race.
Riordan, 62, took the step one day after Mayor Tom Bradley set next Thursday for an announcement on whether he will seek an unprecedented sixth term in the April, 1993, election.
City Councilman Mike Woo has declared his candidacy, and Councilmen Nate Holden and Joel Wachs and Assemblyman Richard Katz are raising funds for possible campaigns.
Riordan is a former Bradley appointee to the city Parks Commission and sponsor of an initiative to limit the terms of elected city officials.
