LACES took advantage of fouls, turnovers and missed free throws to pull out a 58-56 victory over View Park Prep in the City Section boys’ small schools division championship game at Roybal.
View Park had a chance to win in the final seconds but couldn’t convert. After John Moore made one of two free throws with 1.1 seconds, View Park launched a desperation shot that failed.
Moore led LACES (13-18) with 17 points. Leonard Pineda had 15. Josh Jacobs scored 14 points for View Park (15-17), which had 29 turnovers and made just 12 of 24 free throws.
